About this file

These technical drawings detail a gas line repair project at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, with Project Number PNQS 25-8705. The documents include multiple site plans and construction details for repairing and replacing natural gas distribution infrastructure across several locations on the base. Key construction activities include cutting and capping existing 3-inch and 8-inch steel lines, running new 2-inch and 1 1/4-inch lines to Housing Office and Housing Maintenance facilities, adding 8-inch poly lines with transition fittings, removing existing steel valves, and installing new 3-inch poly lines. The project requires careful coordination, with specific notes emphasizing the presence of underground communication conduits and fiber optic/copper cables along Maxwell Boulevard and housing areas, mandating cautious excavation and up-to-date digging permits. Technical specifications cover trench construction, valve box settings, erosion control, and utility crossing requirements, with a minimum 12-inch vertical clearance required when new gas lines intersect other underground utilities.
