About this opportunity
This Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice is for the procurement of the sixth iteration of the power-high voltage module (PH6) for the Mass Spectrometer (MS) portion of the Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer (MOMA) instrument, a joint project between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). The rationale for the sole-source award is that the Space Physics Research Laboratory (SPRL) at the University of Michigan has the unique expertise, facilities, and heritage required to fabricate, integrate, and support the PH6 module within the schedule required to support the ExoMars mission launch in 2025. The contract was awarded under contract number 80GSFC24CA017 for an unknown amount and has a 16-month period of performance from April 2024 to July 2025.
Notice text
The Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer (MOMA) is a joint NASA and European Space Agency (ESA) instrument comprised of two, complementary mode mass spectrometers: a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS) and laser desorption mass spectrometer (LD-MS). The GC-MS and LD-MS are located in the Analytical Science Drawer carried by a Mars Rover known as ExoMars. This justification provides the rationale for contracting by other than full and open competition to award a sole-source cost reimbursement contract to procure the sixth iteration of the power-high voltage module (PH6) of the Mass Spectrometer (MS) portion of the Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer (MOMA) instrument from the Space Physics Research Laboratory (SPRL) at the University of Michigan (UM).
Awarded contract 80GSFC24CA017 to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2024-05-29.
