About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey/request for information (RFI) for the procurement of ASR-9 System cable assemblies constructed using UTiFLEX Cable. The FAA currently believes Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (UEI: G2WEUTVF76Y9; CAGE: 92607) is the only available source due to proprietary design requirements. The FAA is seeking responses from any other fully capable vendors interested in providing the required cable assemblies. If no other qualified vendors respond, the FAA intends to pursue a single source procurement with the known vendor. Responses to this market survey/RFI should be provided via email by July 12, 2024.

This opportunity is not set aside, and the FAA's acquisition processes are governed by the Acquisition Management Systems (AMS) rather than the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The FAA has provided a detailed parts list for the required cable assemblies, but has not specified an award value or budget range. The FAA's intent is to confirm whether a competitive environment exists among fully capable vendors, or whether they will need to proceed with a single source procurement from the currently known vendor.

Notice text

NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. EMAIL RESPONSES ONLY.

This announcement serves as a market survey for the subject requirement. The Federal Aviation Administration requires the purchase of ASR-9 System cable assemblies constructed using UTiFLEX Cable. Cable and connector specifics are enclosed in the attached parts list. The contractor shall provide, procure, and ship the equipment, materials, and supplies.

At this time, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (UEI: G2WEUTVF76Y9; CAGE: 92607) is believed by the FAA to be the only
available source due to their proprietary design which is required by the OEM for the ASR-9 Radar.

Although no other sources are currently known by the FAA to exist, please provide a response to this
announcement if your entity is in fact fully capable and interested in providing the items required for this effort.

If no responses are received asserting a competitive environment among fully capable vendors that
can be confirmed by the US Government, the FAA intends to pursue fulfilment of this requirement with
the aforementioned only known source using agency single source procurement procedures.

This announcement is being posted for market research purposes in compliance with Acquisition
Management Systems (AMS) 3.2.2.5.1 (c) if no other available sources can be confirmed to exist. The
AMS is the FAA's agency wide governing acquisition authority in place of the Federal Acquisition
Regulation (FAR). You can learn more about the FAA's acquisition processes and procedures at the
