About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey for crane support services with an operator to replace twelve cab glass windows on the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) in New Orleans, Louisiana. The agency seeks to identify capable vendors of all business sizes, including large businesses, small businesses, and disadvantaged small businesses, to develop a source list for the upcoming procurement. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement by January 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST, which should detail the types of services provided, previous contract experiences, and years in business. The market survey will help the FAA determine whether there is adequate competition to set aside the contract for small businesses. Submissions must be emailed to Bryon Nolan with the Market Survey Identifier 6973GH-25-NEW and include an SBA 8(a) certification letter if applicable.
The procurement is currently unset aside, with the acquisition strategy to be determined based on market survey responses. The Statement of Work specifies a work period from March 14-25, 2025, requiring a mobile crane capable of lifting 12-foot tall cab glass units at 70-80 feet above ground level, with a maximum lift weight of 4,000 pounds and a lift radius of approximately 80 feet. The crane must have a tip height not exceeding 138 feet above ground level and maintain a load capacity under 65%. The total service duration is estimated at 64 weekday hours plus 16 overtime hours, with additional 20-hour shifts on two Saturdays and Sundays. Vendors will be responsible for site surveys, permits, safety compliance, and comprehensive documentation including CAD drawings, lift plans, and operator certifications. The project will be located at 8500 Lloyd Stearman Dr, New Orleans, LA 70126.
