About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey for crane support services with an operator at the Brownsville, Texas airport location. The purpose of this market survey is to develop a source list and determine whether adequate competition exists for a potential small business set-aside procurement. Interested vendors are required to submit a capability statement that includes details about their service types, previous contract performances, and years in business. The FAA is seeking comprehensive information to inform their acquisition strategy, which may result in either an unrestricted competition or a small business set-aside. All responses must be submitted via email to Bryon Nolan by January 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST, with the Market Survey Identifier 6973GH-25-01350 included in the email subject line.
The market survey specifically relates to crane services for replacing twelve cab glass windows at the Brownsville Airport Traffic Control Tower, with a performance period from February 4-15, 2025. The crane must be capable of lifting 4,000-pound glass units at heights up to 139 feet with a 115-foot lift radius, requiring a licensed operator and detailed technical documentation. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, and vendors are encouraged to include their SBA 8(a) certification if applicable. The work involves 72 weekday hours, 20 Saturday hours, and 10 Sunday hours, with vendors expected to maintain crane load capacity below 65% and provide comprehensive safety and operational documentation. Vendors will be responsible for site visits, CAD drawings, lift plans, and ensuring minimal disruption to airport infrastructure during the window replacement project.
