About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey to procure an Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine for its Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The survey aims to gather information from businesses of all sizes, including large businesses, small businesses, and disadvantaged small businesses, to determine potential sources for this specialized equipment. Interested vendors are required to submit a capability statement detailing their service types, previous contract performances, and years in business, with the option to provide an SBA 8(a) certification letter if applicable. The market survey responses will help the FAA determine whether adequate competition exists to potentially set aside the procurement for small businesses. All submissions must be received by February 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM CST, and should be emailed to Bryon Nolan with the Market Survey Identifier 6973GH-25-WATERJET.

The procurement does not currently have a set-aside designation, and the acquisition strategy remains flexible based on market survey responses. The Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Machine has specific technical requirements, including the ability to cut 8-12mm steel with high precision, featuring a 5-axis mini-wrist system and a high-pressure pump operating at 60,000 psi. The system must meet comprehensive specifications such as maintaining surface finish of 10 RA, compliance with ASME codes, and CE certification. While no specific budget range is disclosed, the machine requires significant technical capabilities, including a 50 HP high-pressure intensifier pump, comprehensive safety sensors, integrated water filtration, and specialized CAM software. The contractor will be responsible for installation, English-language training, technical support, and providing complete documentation prior to machine delivery, with the system needing to operate effectively in temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius.
