About this opportunity

The Special Notice is about the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Microscopy Unit located at the Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, intending to award a single source procurement for preventative maintenance services for the FEI Quanta 200F Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1), which states that only one responsible source can provide this requirement.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to notify interested firms of the USDA's intent to award a maintenance contract for the SEM and to solicit any technical capability statements from firms that believe they have the ability to meet this requirement. The due date for submitting a technical capability statement and business profile is September 9, 2024 to Dilynn Rogers at dilynn.rogers@usda.gov. The government will treat any information received as market research for future similar or same requirements. If no responsive statements are received by the due date, an award will be made to FEI Company.

                                                                      Maintenance Contract for SEM

This is not a solicitation.  This is a notification of an intent to award a single source procurement under NAICS code 811210.  The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Microscopy Unit located at the Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania will solicit and award a purchase order for preventative maintenance services for the FEI Quanta 200F Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide this requirement.   

The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1), only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.  If firms believe they have the technical capability to meet this need, submit a technical capability statement along with business profile to Dilynn Rogers at dilynn.rogers@usda.gov by 9/9/2024. Any information received will be treated as market research information towards future similar or same requirements.  Quotations or proposals received in response to this notice will not be accepted since the synopsis is not a request for proposal.  

A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via email to dilynn.rogers@usda.gov . No faxed documents will be accepted. If no responsive statements are received by 9/9/2024 at 10:00 AM EST, an award will be made to FEI Company.
