About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service (IHS), Bemidji Area has published a Special Notice regarding their intent to award a sole source contract to ScriptPro for maintenance and software updates for an SP200 robot at the Cass Lake IHS Hospital in Cass Lake, Minnesota. The contract will also include the lease of peripheral equipment associated with the SP200 robot that the hospital purchased years ago. The anticipated contract period includes a base year plus two option years, with an estimated total value of $195,714.88. The procurement will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 authority, which allows for sole source awards when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code for this opportunity is 532490 (Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing).
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the market of IHS's intent to award a sole source contract due to ScriptPro's exclusive ownership of copyrights, patent rights, trade secrets, and other proprietary data essential to the SP200 robot system. Interested parties have until August 25, 2025, to respond to Purchasing Agent De'Lana Tangren at delana.tangren@ihs.gov with evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. This is not a request for competitive quotes, but rather a notice allowing other vendors to demonstrate their technical capabilities and ability to meet the government's needs. Any responses must provide clear and convincing evidence that competitive procurement would benefit the government, as IHS maintains that using another vendor would void all warranties and that only ScriptPro possesses the necessary equipment and technical expertise. The contract will cover continued maintenance, software updates, peripheral equipment leasing, project management support, and a Windows 11 upgrade for the existing SP200 robot system.
