About this opportunity

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing issued a Notice of Intent to sole-source a contract for machine-readable intaglio ink by June 18, 2026, with SICPA Securink Corporation identified as the only responsible source. BEP's market research determined that no other vendor possesses the technical capability, proprietary processes, and production capacity to manufacture inks meeting the specialized U.S. Currency Program Catalyst Family Design requirements and compatibility with BEP intaglio presses. The inks will support production of U.S. currency and security products at BEP's Eastern and Western Currency Facilities, as well as test printing for change management and continuous improvement. The requirement involves security-sensitive materials and specialized production methods unavailable commercially or as nondevelopmental items. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may submit capability statements and technical documentation demonstrating their ability to meet BEP's requirements without requiring substantial Government-funded development by the June 18 deadline.
