About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking a small business contractor to refurbish 72 Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS) trailer wheel/tire assemblies at Tyndall Air Force Base. The solicitation requires replacing tires, split rim steel wheels, adding new tubes and liners, and applying two-part flat-proofing foam/catalyst, with the vendor responsible for pickup and return of assemblies. Contractors must submit quotes electronically by Friday, 21 March 2025 at 2:00 PM CST to Contract Specialist A1C Nathaniel J. Cordova and Contracting Officer SrA Diana I. Alen. The quotes will be evaluated using two primary factors: technical capability of the item/service and price, following a best value methodology. All questions concerning the solicitation must be submitted no later than Friday, 14 March 2025 at 2:00 PM CST, with responses to be posted as an Amendment on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 326211 with a size standard of 1,500 employees. The contract requires a firm fixed-price delivery within 60 calendar days after receipt of order, with specific technical requirements including non-directional 900-20 tires with 12 plies, load range F, and two-part polymer flat-proofing foam. Vendors must be registered in SAM.gov and prepared to meet military-grade specifications for tire and wheel components. The place of performance is Tyndall AFB in Florida, with the contractor responsible for media blasting wheel surfaces, installing new components, and delivering refurbished assemblies. While no specific incumbent or exact award value is detailed, the solicitation indicates a focused, technical procurement supporting the Air Force's 10-year overhaul program for MAAS trailers.
