Mobile Aircraft Arresting System Trailer Tires

Regarding Solicitation: FA481925Q0007

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center/CEMIRT division has a requirement for 72 tire assemblies to support the technical order mandated 10-year overhaul program of the Mobile Aircraft

Arresting System trailer.

• REQUIREMENT: The contractor shall provide the tire assemblies identified below, freight, material and labor in accordance with all applicable codes, specifications, and industry/federal standards to CEMIRT, AFCEC/COMX at Tyndall AFB, Florida.

• LIST OF MATERIALS:

o TIRE: Non-directional (NDT) military tire. (Specialty Tires of America P/N:

ML4C4)

▪ QUANTITY: 72 each

▪ SPECIFICATIONS:

• Size: 900-20

• Number of Plies: 12

• Load Range: F/12

• Tread Depth: 20/32”

• Rim Width: 10.60”

• Overall Diameter: 40.70”

• Maximum Inflation: 85 PSI

• Maximum Load: 4,250 pounds

• Approximate Weight: 74 pounds o TUBE & TIRE FLAP

▪ QUANTITY: 72 Each

▪ TRUCK: 900-20

o TWO PART POLYMER FILL (Carlisle TyrFil RePnue TV Flat Proofing Foam

(OR EQUAL).

▪ QUANTITY: 72 Each

▪ Evidence a Mid-durometer polyurethane flat proofing fill with 28 Shore A hardness

Statement of Work

▪ The tire/foam must be capable to run in service at highway speeds of 55 mph/88kph for eight (8) hours.

▪ NOTE: 230 lbs of the two-part polymer is required to fill each tire/wheel.

• PERFORMACE OF TIRE ASSEMBLIES:

o The vendor will perform the following actions:

▪ Pick-up 72 tires/split steel wheel assemblies from the Tyndall AFB delivery address below and transport to their facility.

▪ Remove and dispose of the existing tires, tubes, tire flaps, and foam fill

▪ Retain split steel wheels and media/water blast and apply prime coat

• Primer Requirement: MIL-PRF-23377K, Type II, Class or

Equivalent

• Suggested Source: Hentzen Coatings, P/N: K17176KEP (1-gallon kit)

▪ Install new tires, tubes, and tire flaps on the finished steel split wheel assemblies

▪ Fill tire/split steel wheel assemblies with 230 lbs of two-part polymer foam

▪ Remove excess dried foam/residue from all exterior surfaces of the tires/wheel assemblies

▪ The tire/wheel assembly weight must be minimum 410 lbs/maximum 420 lbs

▪ Deliver 72 refurbished tires/wheel assemblies to the Tyndall AFB delivery address
