About this opportunity
AFLCMC/EBUW, Aircraft Guns is conducting a Request for Information to identify sources capable of manufacturing M61A1/M61A2 (20mm) gun system checking fixtures, with responses due by June 26, 2026. This is market research only; no contract commitment has been made and no award will result from this RFI.
The fixtures are diagnostic and calibration tools that enable armament maintainers to test, troubleshoot, and validate aircraft gun systems and components for F-15, F-16, and F-22 platforms before installation. The RFI lists 16 specific fixture and gage items across three aircraft platforms, identified by part number, Federal Supply Class code, and National Item Identification Number.
Prospective contractors must demonstrate capability in precision manufacturing with tolerances to 0.0001 inches, manufacturing directly from Technical Data Packages containing engineering drawings and 3D CAD models, and maintaining an established Quality Management System (ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949). Responses must include documentation of tolerance compliance and be submitted via email to Ricardo Jones (ricardo.jones@us.af.mil) and Stephen Green (stephen.green.20@us.af.mil).
The proposed NAICS code is 332994 (Small Arms, Ordnance, and Ordnance Accessories Manufacturing). No set-aside has been decided; the government will determine strategy based on small business responses and demonstrated capability. All submissions become government property and will not be returned.
