About this opportunity
The Department of the Army is conducting market research on repair and sustainment services for the M4A1 Joint Chemical Agent Detector (JCAD) and JCAD Solid Liquid Adapter (SLA), with responses due May 22, 2026 by 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. This is a sources sought notice; participation is voluntary, responses will not result in compensation, and no obligation exists for the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal seeks qualified vendors to perform assessment, repair, and Sustainment-Level Event Package services. Five-year estimated quantities include M4A1 JCAD repairs (326 units Year 1 declining to 31 units Year 5), M4A1 JCAD SLEP services (586 units Year 1 increasing to 1,449 units Year 5), and JCAD SLA repairs (zero units Year 1 to 200 units Year 5).
The Government does not own or have access to the technical data package; Smiths Detection, Inc. (CAGE code 23667) currently owns and maintains it. Responses must address vendor profile information (business type, CAGE code, points of contact), technical capabilities (past government contract experience, current repair capabilities, technical data access), service delivery details (turnaround time, facility location), quality management certifications, and pricing (minimum and maximum monthly rates and per-unit costs).
