About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI) is conducting a Sources Sought Notice for a replacement static power inverter for the M26 Decontaminating Apparatus. The agency seeks to identify qualified vendors capable of sourcing a 12VDC to 220VAC inverter that can operate in harsh military environments, replacing an obsolete inverter with part number 6.621-025.0. Key contract requirements include identifying a robust inverter measuring approximately 6"X4.5"X5", capable of surviving storage temperatures from -25F to 160F and operating temperatures from 32F to 125F. Vendors must submit capability statements by 12:00 P.M. CST on June 20, 2025, via email to hila.r.anderson.civ@army.mil, providing documentation such as DUNS number, EUI, and Cage Code. The evaluation will focus on vendors' ability to locate a suitable replacement, identify an appropriate installation location within the M26's control panel, conduct verification testing, and generate installation instructions for government technical writers.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside for small businesses or disadvantaged vendors. The contract will be a firm fixed-price type with a 90-day period of performance, requiring the delivery of one prototype inverter and digital installation instructions to the Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center. While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope suggests a targeted, specialized procurement for a mission-critical military equipment component. The current inverter was manufactured by Karcher Futuretech GmbH, but the government is seeking alternative sources due to the component's obsolescence. Vendors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in electrical systems engineering, specifically in designing or sourcing inverters that meet stringent military environmental and performance standards, with the ultimate goal of providing a drop-in replacement for the existing M26 system inverter.
