About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime (DLA Weapons Support, Columbus) is conducting market research to identify qualified suppliers for a long-term contract covering seven National Stock Numbers (NSNs) of hydraulic accumulators and related components. The procurement includes bladder accumulators, bag and valve desurger units, piston accumulators, charging assemblers, and various hydraulic accumulators designated as Critical Application Items supporting primary weapon systems including Los Angeles Class SSN (688), Ohio Class SSBN (Trident), Whidbey Island Class LSD, Nimitz Class CVN, and Ticonderoga Class CG (47) vessels. Key requirements include strict compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129 packaging standards, sampling per MIL-STD-1916, prohibition of mercury compounds, and configuration change management procedures. The government is seeking qualified business concerns capable of manufacturing or supplying these items with demonstrated technical capabilities and manufacturing knowledge to maintain part quality. The deadline for interested vendors to submit completed market survey questionnaires and spreadsheets to Samantha Simms at samantha.simms@dla.mil is February 16, 2026, with the formal solicitation to be synopsized separately following this sources sought phase.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and the currently approved manufacturer for all seven NSNs is Parker-Hannifin Corporation (CAGE Code 26337), which retains data rights and manufacturing knowledge essential to maintaining part quality. Annual demand quantities range from 3 to 27 units per NSN, with unit prices between $700 and $1,300, and estimated delivery times between 3 and 27 days. The proposed contract structure includes a three-year base period with single option years thereafter, with the government requesting contractor input on pricing mechanisms such as firm fixed price with negotiated escalation, fixed price with economic price adjustment using Bureau of Labor Statistics indices, or fixed price with price redetermination. For contracts estimated over $2,000,000, certified Cost or Pricing Data or Information Other Than Cost or Pricing Data may be required. Interested suppliers must provide company information, size status, Small Business Administration classifications, delivery capabilities, production limitations, and supporting documentation such as published catalogs, price lists, and commercial sales history to inform the government's acquisition strategy.
