PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will upgrade Boott Mill #6 and Boott Mill Counting House to achieve compliance for life safety and egress code requirements. These two structures are home to two significant Park visitor facilities and functions: The Boott Cotton Mills Museum and the Tsongas Industrial History Center (TIHC). The 4th and 5th floors of Boott Mill #6 lack egress that is compliant for current fire code for youth and for assembly use-group occupancy. TIHC education program facilities on the 4th and 5th floor will be relocated, with these functions realigned onto the 3rd floor where code compliant egress is available. The existing exit stair will be extended from the third floor to accommodate the fourth and fifth floors. Facilities for park functions without student/youth components will be realigned onto the 4th and 5th floors.
PROCUREMENT TYPE: A single firm-fixed price contract will be awarded based on the Best Value Continuum: Tradoff Process
