About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command, specifically the Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is seeking industry partners to develop the Low Altitude Stalking and Striking Ordinance (LASSO), a specialized defense technology project in the Aircraft Manufacturing sector. Interested vendors must first obtain a draft Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Statement of Work by contacting government points of contact Ms. DeMarcasa Jones or Mr. Scott Huelse via email. Prospective contractors are required to demonstrate appropriate security clearances by providing documentation from their Facility Security Officer, including their company cage code. The SOW covers both architectural and hardware requirements for the project, with industry feedback due no later than January 17, 2025. Companies wishing to discuss their feedback via Microsoft Teams must indicate their interest by January 8, 2025, and must follow strict Operations Security (OPSEC) requirements in accordance with federal regulations.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, suggesting it is open to a broad range of qualified defense contractors. The procurement is categorized under the Product Service Code for Guided Missile Systems and the NAICS category of Aircraft Manufacturing, implying a sophisticated defense technology development project. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in the document, the complexity of the LASSO project and the detailed security requirements suggest a significant, potentially high-value contract. The project timeline appears to be in its early stages, with the initial industry day having occurred in October 2024 and the current pre-solicitation phase extending through January 2025. The involvement of a CACI contractor (Scott Huelse) in the acquisition support team indicates potential collaboration or subcontracting opportunities for interested vendors.

Industry Partners:

Thank you for participating in the Low Altitude Stalking and Striking Ordinance (LASSO) Industry Day on 29 October 2024.

There is an Operations Security (OPSEC) requirement to ensure all recipients of the CUI file meet access requirements in accordance with (IAW) 32 CFR 117, NISPOM and DoDM 5200.48, Controlled Unclassified Information. CUI information is not releasable to the public, so if you are a newly interested vendor and did not attend the LASSO Industry Day in October 2024, please provide your citizenship on a letter from your Facility Security Officer (FSO) and provide your company cage code.
