About this opportunity
The Forest Service is issuing a call order against an existing Land Management Integrated Resources (LMIR) Blanket Purchase Agreement for lodgepole pinecone collection services on the Sawtooth National Forest, with responses due June 4, 2026; this opportunity is restricted to small businesses holding an active LMIR BPA that includes Cone Collection Services for the Sawtooth National Forest.
The contract, titled "Trapper Peak Lodgepole Pinecone Collection," covers approximately 15.25 acres across four collection units in the Cassia Division, Minidoka Ranger District, Idaho. The contractor must collect an estimated 32 bushels of cones from trees 10–14 inches in diameter at breast height and 60–75 feet tall, with the contract period extending through September 17, 2026. The primary objective is to restore critical habitat for the Cassia Crossbill, which has lost approximately 42 percent of its habitat due to recent large-scale wildfire.
The contractor furnishes all labor, equipment, personal protective equipment, supervision, transportation, and supplies; the Forest Service provides ground crew support, cone processing and measurement, and transportation to storage facilities. Award will be made on lowest price technically acceptable criteria, evaluating technical approach, work schedule, and relevant experience. A mandatory post-award conference must occur within 10 days of contract award at the Minidoka Ranger District office in Burley, Idaho.
Respondents must submit a price quote, experience questionnaire, and performance work statement via the attached BPA Call Order Form by the June 4 deadline. Contact Andrea Haines at andrea.haines@usda.gov for additional information.
