About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville (FLCJ), Florida has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to The L.C. Doane Company for overhead lighting fixtures. This acquisition will utilize simplified acquisition procedures under NAICS code 335132 (Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional Electric Lighting Fixture Manufacturing) with a size standard of 600 employees. The notice serves as an informational announcement rather than a formal solicitation, request for proposals, or invitation to bid. The requirement involves the procurement of 14 units of Part Number 600A-SSL-R-LST20 Lighting Fixtures for delivery to Naval Station Mayport Building 1488 Massey Avenue in Mayport, Florida by December 30, 2025.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide other eligible sources an opportunity to demonstrate their capability to provide comparable lighting fixtures that would be more advantageous to the government than the planned sole source acquisition. Any interested contractors must respond in writing with clear and convincing evidence articulating their ability to meet the requirement, as simple requests for documentation will not be considered valid responses. The response deadline is July 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET, with submissions required to be sent to the specified Navy contracting personnel via email. If no qualifying responses are received by the deadline demonstrating that comparable items are available and would provide greater advantage to the government, the sole source contract award will proceed as planned. Contractors accessing the naval installation must comply with Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) requirements and obtain appropriate credentials through the Navy Commercial Access Control System (NCACS) process.
