About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 38 units of a light, taxiing, aircraft component (NSN 7R-6220-017206438-P8) through a pre-solicitation notice. The procurement requires FAA-Certified parts with an FAA Authorized Release Certificate, specifically an FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthy Approval Tag. Only pre-approved government sources will be considered for this critical flight component, with potential vendors required to submit detailed technical data and source approval information through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures. The government will evaluate proposals received within 45 days of the notice's publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement), with the ultimate determination of competitive procurement remaining solely at the government's discretion. Interested vendors must demonstrate their capability to satisfy the requirement and provide comprehensive documentation supporting their technical qualifications.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement. While the exact award value is not specified, the quantity of 38 units suggests a focused, specialized acquisition. The procurement is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. Delivery will be FOB Origin, and the item is classified as a commercial, non-developmental, off-the-shelf product. The government has determined that standard FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition policies will not be used in this solicitation. Vendors must be prepared to navigate complex source approval processes, understanding that the government may continue award proceedings based on fleet support needs, even if complete source approval cannot be processed in the expected timeframe.
