About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center is seeking Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to provide Light Capability Rough Terrain Forklifts (LCRTF), a specialized military vehicle designed for handling equipment and cargo over challenging terrain. The procurement aims to acquire an estimated 411 forklifts with specific technical requirements, including a minimum lift capacity of 5,000 pounds, operating capabilities in extreme temperatures from -25 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, and durability for both improved and unimproved terrain. The Sources Sought Questionnaire is designed to assess market capabilities and understand potential manufacturers' abilities to meet rigorous military standards for vehicle performance, reliability, and technical specifications. Potential respondents must demonstrate compliance with military standards such as ATPD-2392G, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-1275. The response deadline for this Request for Information is May 22, 2025, with companies encouraged to submit comprehensive details about their manufacturing capabilities, production rates, and technical compliance.

The procurement is not designated with any specific set-aside, indicating open competition among qualified manufacturers. The Army plans to establish Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts spanning a minimum of four and a maximum of six one-year periods, with the potential contract value determined by the total number of forklifts procured. While no incumbent contractors are mentioned, the Army seeks vendors capable of producing a forklift with a maximum curb weight of 13,500 pounds, automatic or hydrostatic transmission, and diesel powertrain. The total estimated procurement of 411 vehicles suggests a significant investment in modernizing the military's material handling equipment capabilities. Potential contractors must provide detailed information about their production readiness, commercial availability, warranty terms, maintenance requirements, and testing facilities to be considered for this critical military procurement.
