About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to SYMMETRY RESOURCES INC for Li-ion Cell Characterization Tests. NASA has determined that SYMMETRY RESOURCES INC is the sole provider of these required testing services.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide details on the Statement of Work for the Li-ion Cell Characterization Tests contract, which includes adiabatic calorimetry, rate vs temperature discharge testing, cycle life testing, capacity and energy vs rate testing, and acceptance testing on a total of 240 cylindrical cells from three different manufacturers. The contractor will also provide 156 hours of cell and battery design consulting. The contract will be awarded using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 procedures, with a 1-year period of performance. NASA is soliciting capabilities and qualifications from interested organizations by July 1, 2024, solely to determine if the procurement should be competed. NASA's decision on competition is at the government's discretion.
