About this opportunity
The US Government is seeking office space for lease in Topeka, Kansas, through the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Kansas City. The government currently occupies office space under a lease that will be expiring and is considering alternate space if economically advantageous. The procurement requires approximately 4,060 square feet of office and related space, with the government evaluating potential alternatives based on availability of suitable space and costs associated with relocation, including physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements, telecommunication infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime. Interested parties should submit information to Kathy Cherrito at Katherine.a.cherrito@usace.army.mil or 816-389-3821. The opportunity was posted on July 21, 2025, with a response deadline of July 28, 2025, providing a short seven-day window for interested lessors to respond. The solicitation includes several exhibits covering lease forms, general clauses, construction specifications, janitorial specifications, floor plans, and rent proposal forms.
This pre-solicitation notice does not designate any set-aside categories, making it open to all qualified lessors of nonresidential buildings under NAICS code 53112. No incumbent contractor or current lessor information is provided in the notice, nor are specific award values or budget ranges disclosed at this preliminary stage. The key quantifiable requirement is the approximate 4,060 square feet of office space needed by the government. The timeline indicates urgency with only seven days between posting and the response deadline, suggesting the government may be operating under time constraints due to the expiring lease. The multiple exhibits attached to the solicitation, including construction specifications and lease forms, indicate this will likely be a comprehensive leasing arrangement with specific government requirements for the space and its operation.
