About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Portland District is conducting a market survey to identify contractors capable of repairing a 32-inch LeBlond sliding gap bed lathe, with responses due September 11, 2026. This is a Sources Sought synopsis, not a solicitation, and does not constitute a commitment to award.

Work will be performed at US Moorings, 8010 NW St. Helens Road, Portland, Oregon 97210, with a 90-day period of performance from award. The contract is structured in three line items: disassembly and comprehensive inspection with submission of a Condition Found Report identifying damaged parts (CLIN 0001); repair and assembly strictly per Contracting Officer-approved CFR and operational testing (CLIN 0002); and functional testing with Government verification that repairs resolve binding issues and equipment meets operational parameters (CLIN 0003). The contractor must achieve 100% accurate identification of required repairs with zero deviation, zero instances of unauthorized work, and 100% functionality with zero binding or mechanical failures during final testing.

The Government requires submission of a Statement of Capability demonstrating skills and experience in commercial and industrial machinery repair under NAICS 811310. Interested vendors must provide point of contact information, CAGE Code, Unique Entity ID (registered in SAM.gov), and documentation of socioeconomic status if applicable (8(a), HUBZone, Veteran Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Business, or SDVOSB).

Technical inquiries must be submitted in writing to Ian Lutjens (ian.k.lutjens@usace.army.mil) no later than September 8, 2026. Responses should address DoD/Army security training requirements within 30 days of award and E-Verify compliance within three business days. No set-aside is anticipated.
