The purpose of this synopsis is to provide a notice to the public of information applicable to the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) Office of its requirement for replacement of existing lawn and irrigation system at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, CA.
Authority: NPS is issuing this synopsis in accordance with FAR Part 5.204 Pre-Solicitation Notice.
Description: This project is a new requirement and will replace the existing lawn irrigation system with a more efficient system in Aquatic Park. Approximately 2,800 linear feet (LF) of deteriorated and inefficient irrigation piping will be replaced with PVC piping that is specially colored to allow the future use of reclaimed wastewater effluent from a nearby City of San Francisco treatment plant. The new system will be designed to include new meters, valves, properly sized water lines (main lines and lateral lines), and sprinkler heads that apply the appropriate amount of water for turf needs and to minimize water waste and runoff. Approximately 3000 square feet of red brick pavers will be removed, disposed of, and replaced with lawn. Approximately 56,0000 square feet of turf shall be replaced.

Competitive Acquisition: It is anticipated that this will be a competitive acquisition 100% set-aside for HUBZone small business participation. Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract.
Period of Performance: The anticipated period of performance is (130) one hundred-thirty days from the notice to proceed (NTP) date.
Release of the Solicitation: It is anticipated that the release of Solicitation No. 140P8622R0007 is anticipated to be released around April 22, 2022. Should there be any issues arising for this solicitation, the Contracting Officer will provide an update via https://www.sam.gov.
