About this opportunity

The Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the modernization of their Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The RFI is for market research and planning purposes only and is not a solicitation. ATF is seeking information on vendors' capabilities and experience in deploying LIMS solutions within the U.S. government and forensic laboratories, including features such as case management, evidence intake and chain of custody, data mining and reporting, and integration with existing ATF applications. The RFI outlines ATF's desired LIMS features and functionality across areas like workload process, record storage and management, test sample management, and data analysis. Respondents are asked to provide information on their relevant experience, contract vehicles, and licensing/pricing details. There is no deadline for responses, and ATF may schedule vendor demonstrations at their discretion. Responses will not be evaluated for any future solicitation, and no reimbursement will be provided.

This RFI is not set-aside for any particular business size or socioeconomic status. The government has not provided any information about potential incumbents or current contractors. The RFI does not specify any award values or budget ranges, as this is an information gathering exercise only. The government has attached two documents, including a detailed LIMS features questionnaire, to support respondents in providing comprehensive information about their capabilities.
