About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking to procure a Labconco model 11041000010896 48-inch fume hood for the B-21 Low Observable Maintenance facility at Ellsworth Air Force Base. The solicitation requires a comprehensive fume hood assembly, including a 4-foot Protector XStream Laboratory Hood, a standard base cabinet, filler panel, and specialized work surface designed for HAZMAT room operations. Evaluation criteria will focus on price and technical capability, with the lowest three price quotes undergoing a detailed technical assessment to ensure they can meet the specific requirements outlined in the Equipment List and Salient Characteristics List. Key dates for this solicitation include February 28, 2025, as the deadline for questions, with answers provided around March 4, 2025, and quote submissions due by March 11, 2025, at 1:30 PM CDT. Potential offerors must be registered in SAM.gov and submit required representations and certifications as part of their response.

The solicitation is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS category 339999 (All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing), with a size standard of 550 employees. While Labconco is the specified brand, market research identified twelve small business resellers, with four confirming their ability to provide the equipment. The contract requires delivery of one complete fume hood system within 180 days after receipt of order, with specific technical requirements including OSHA-approved low flow velocities, LED lighting, and specialized safety features for handling hazardous materials. The total procurement is for a single unit to be installed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, with a focus on meeting precise specifications for the B-21 Low Observable Maintenance facility. The government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation without reimbursing offerors for any associated costs, emphasizing the competitive and potentially uncertain nature of this procurement opportunity.
