About this opportunity
The Air Force Test Center's Installation Contracting Division at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, is conducting market research through a sources-sought notice for various lab equipment with responses due September 9, 2026. This is not a solicitation, request for quote, or commitment to award a contract. The Government intends to use responses to determine which equipment items could be grouped together for strategic purchasing purposes.
The equipment requirement spans thirteen items: Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) with mass range 1.6–1050 and NIST library bundle; Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) with 0.14 nanometer resolution and 20–120 kV accelerating voltage; IPLEX One Borescope system with 2.2, 4, and 6 millimeter insertion tubes, wireless controls, and measurement software; Creaform 3D Corrosion Scanner with VXintegrity software and Dell 7680 workstation; Digital Microscope with 5–6000x magnification and integrated LIBS analyzer; Digital 3D Surface Profilometer with sub-nanometer resolution and ISO 25178/21920 compliance; 300 kilonewton Tensile Tester with dual load cells and fastener testing capability; Portable Residual Stress Analyzer with chromium and manganese x-ray tubes; GC-ECD with two detectors and autoinjector; GC-FID with two detectors and autoinjector; Atomx XYZ Automated VOC Sample Prep System with 84-position sample tray; Handheld XRF Analyzer with rhodium anode and 50 kilovolt x-ray tube; and Vickers/Knoop Hardness Tester with micro/macro ranges and K1c fracture toughness capability.
All specifications require new equipment only; refurbished or remanufactured parts are prohibited. Standard inclusions across all items include installation, calibration, training, and warranty provisions ranging from one to ten years depending on equipment type. Place of performance is Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. Respondents must provide company information, SAM UEI number, preliminary cost estimates and lead times via the Lab Equipment Worksheet, authorization letters to sell recommended equipment, identification of any equipment available on Government-wide contracts with contract numbers, and clarification on whether specifications represent commercial-off-the-shelf or commercial products. Generic capability statements will not be considered.
