About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 is closing solicitation 36C24226Q0764 without award as of September 11, 2026, with a re-solicitation to be posted shortly at SAM.gov.
The original RFQ sought kitchen exhaust hood maintenance services at Montrose VA Medical Center (2094 Albany Post Road, Montrose, NY 10548) and Castle Point VA Medical Center (41 Castle Point Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590). The contract was firm-fixed-price for a base period from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, plus four optional one-year periods extending through September 30, 2031, with an estimated value of $12.5 million. Services included semi-annual cleaning of canteen and main kitchen hoods performed continuously from roof to bottom, in compliance with NFPA 96 standards. On-site work was scheduled Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, excluding federal holidays.
Contractor technicians were required to hold certification as hood and duct cleaning professionals with knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, NFPA 96, and IKEKA/ANSI C-10 standards. Detailed service reports with digital photographs were required within seven to ten business days of each service visit. General liability insurance of $500,000 per occurrence and workers' compensation coverage were mandated.
The procurement was unrestricted with no set-aside. NAICS code 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC J073 (Maint/Repair/Rebuild Of Equipment—Food Preparation And Serving Equipment) applied. Service Contract Act wage rates for Dutchess and Westchester counties in New York governed prevailing wage and fringe benefit requirements. Contracting officer Leia LaBruna administers the requirement from the VA Network Contracting Office 2 in Buffalo, New York.
