About this opportunity
The U.S. Air Force's C/KC135 Contracting Branch at Tinker Air Force Base has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for market research purposes on providing a KC-135 Radio Altimeter 5G Filter. The purpose is to solicit industry options and possible solutions to address the issue of 5G interference with the KC-135 aircraft's radio altimeter. This RFI is for information gathering only and does not constitute a solicitation or promise of a future contract award. Responses should include nonproprietary information, but any proprietary data should be clearly marked. The government is seeking COTS products with Federal Aviation Administration certification to rapidly deploy effective solutions. Responses are due by December 22, 2024, and an industry day event will follow the RFI.
This RFI has no set-aside designation, and the government has not disclosed any incumbent contractors or potential award values. The fleet size for the KC-135 aircraft is approximately 370 aircraft, and the government is interested in company background information from respondents to identify potential partners and collaborations to enhance their capability to address this challenge.
