About this opportunity

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism seeks to award a sole source contract to Kaiser Foundation Research Institute to develop an alcohol use disorder patient registry within Kaiser Permanente Northern California and conduct longitudinal research on alcohol problems. The contractor will leverage Kaiser's comprehensive electronic health record system to evaluate patient diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, and recovery over time. The purpose is to better understand the full course of alcohol abuse and inform treatment approaches. Proposals are due by July 2, 2021 with award anticipated by July 31, 2021. The total estimated value is $769,900 over a base year and four one-year options from June 2021 through June 2026.

There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. Kaiser Foundation Research Institute is the incumbent and only potential offeror given the proprietary nature of the required electronic health record data. The work involves the NAICS code 541715 and PSC code R425, with performance taking place within Kaiser Permanente Northern California. The total estimated value is $769,900 over the base year and four one-year options, or $4 million including two additional justification and approval documents. The registry will track longitudinal patient information and outcomes through 2026 to support alcohol disorder research objectives.
