About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command issued a Class Justification and Approval for sole source award to support rapid acquisition of commercial off-the-shelf counter-Unmanned Aerial System (cUAS) capabilities in support of Operation EPIC FURY within U.S. Central Command's Area of Responsibility. The 20th Contracting Squadron will execute over thirty contracting actions to acquire systems providing point defense, intelligence integration, electronic warfare effects, and advanced analytics through multiple vendor-specific Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with a combined ceiling value of $99,000,000. The justification for this sole source approach is based on the unique operational requirements for immediate combat operations and force protection, supported by AFCENT Battle Lab operational testing that demonstrated these technologies' proven interoperability with Department of the Air Force systems and capability for rapid delivery. The awarded vendor is identified as Kraus Hamdani Aerospace under contract FA480326D0001, executed on March 30, 2026, for the provision of the K1000ULE Unmanned Aerial System solution and ancillary services. This justification and approval remains valid for no more than one year from signature date or until the unusual and compelling operational requirements are fulfilled, whichever occurs first, with task orders to be issued as operational requirements arise.
