1. The NY Civil Support Teams (CST) are replacing their National Guard Bureau authorized Low Profile Ensemble (LPE) response uniform. The Chemical Protective Suit will be utilized as a Level C uniform.
2. The CST's historically used a JSLIST equivalent suit that met or exceeded the level of protection from chemical warfare agents specified in MIL-C-29462. Heat stress and limitations on mobility were an issue with prolonged wear. A lighter weight replacement suit shall meet the following criteria using the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM International) Standards:
Updated Product description:

ASTM D-1424, Tear Strength, > 10 lbs w arp direction & >6 lbs filling direction.
ASTM D-1683, Seam Efficiency, > 95%.
3. The replacement suit shall be lighter than the JSLIST with stiffness reduction, and improved conductive heat transfer as compared to the JSLIST.
4. The chemical protective suit shall be a two piece charcoal impregnated ensemble. The suit shall consist of tan/khaki trousers with cargo pockets and belt loops and a green hooded coat with Velcro tape on the chest and shoulders.
5. The request is based off of the JSLIST size table.
