About this opportunity

Air Force Special Operations Command issued a notice of intent to sole-source Joint Range Extension Help Desk Services to SAIC Engility, with a response deadline of June 4, 2026.

The acquisition covers help desk support for the JRE 1U server, hardware and software that enables ground and air platforms to exchange real-time tactical information and provide joint and coalition forces with battlefield visibility and situational awareness. The contract value is $80,600.18, issued under Purchase Request Number F1L1HC6126AA01 by the 27th Special Operations Contracting Squadron-Commodities and Services Flight.

SAIC Engility is the sole identified source under FAR 12.102(a) because it is the only manufacturer capable of providing the requested products with the required specifications and nameplate designation currently installed and the only system capable of communicating with like JRE systems across geographic combatant commands to ensure integration of various military-specific architectures. Market research conducted May 4–19, 2026, including searches of the Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled, SAM.gov, and GSA Advantage, confirmed no alternative sources can meet the support requirements. The contracting officer signed the determination on May 20, 2026, finding that procuring a new system would require extensive communications architecture redesign, testing, and certification processes for which funding does not exist.

The work is performed on-site to leverage SAIC Engility technical subject matter expertise supporting military and contractor personnel troubleshooting JRE operations.
