About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command-Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA), operating under the Department of the Army Materiel Command TACOM Life Cycle Management Command, is procuring continued production of the Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) system, which comprises a Bridge Launch Mechanism (BLM) integrated onto government-furnished M1A1 chassis with heavy A2 suspension. This is a sole-source pre-solicitation notice for informational purposes only, issued on April 2, 2026, with a question deadline of April 17, 2026. The Government has determined that sole-source acquisition is appropriate under Title 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, based on the finding that follow-on production from the original source will prevent substantial duplication of costs to the Government. No competitive evaluation criteria will be applied, as this is not a competitive procurement and no proposals will be accepted in response to this notice. The contract will not be awarded based on responses to this pre-solicitation synopsis.

This procurement includes no set-aside designations and is intended to be awarded solely to DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc (DRS-SSI), CAGE code 98255, located in Bridgeton, Missouri, as the incumbent contractor. The four-year requirements contract, designated W912CH-26-R-0037, will run from fiscal year 2026 through fiscal year 2029 and will utilize a hybrid pricing structure combining Firm-Fixed Price, Cost-Plus Fixed Fee, and Cost Reimbursement (no fee) components. Funding will be provided through Wheeled and Tracked Combat Vehicle procurement appropriations, with the contract fully funded to support the estimated requirement of 18 JAB systems. The scope of work extends beyond production to include ancillary hardware and services such as Authorized Stockage List items, Special Tools and Test Equipment, and Contractor Logistics Support to sustain the Bridge Launch Mechanism throughout the contract period.
