About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Sam Houston issued a sole source justification and award notice on March 27, 2026 for Land Mobile Radio and Emergency Vehicle Equipment (LMR-EV) maintenance and repair services at Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall. The contract requires the selected contractor to provide maintenance, repair, and installation services for specialized radio and emergency vehicle equipment components that are replaced every five to six years, with services commencing March 28, 2026 through September 27, 2031 under a firm-fixed-price structure. The sole source justification was based on market research and a 15-day sources sought notice posted to SAM.Gov on December 22, 2025, which resulted in only one responsible source expressing interest; the government determined that only one manufacturer produces the equipment and a single Authorized Service Dealer certified to provide these services exists within the National Capital Region, with proprietary intellectual property protections limiting availability to the manufacturer and authorized representatives. The contract was awarded to an unknown vendor for an unknown amount under contract number W91QV126CA017 on March 26, 2026, with a base period of one year followed by four one-year option periods. The award includes a requirement for the contractor to utilize E-Verify for all employees and obtain background checks from local police departments.
