About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System has issued a Special Notice seeking sources for janitorial supplies and facilities equipment to support the Bakersfield VA Clinic. This Sources Sought (SS) notice, posted on February 10, 2026, is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) sole source opportunity. The notice specifically solicits information regarding the supply of wastebaskets, janitor carts, mops, tilt trucks, and trash cans. It is important to note that this is strictly a market research and information-gathering initiative and does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ), commitment to award a contract, or guarantee of future solicitation.

Responses to this Sources Sought request must be submitted by February 16, 2026, to Contract Specialist Erica Perry-Johnson at erica.perry-johnson@va.gov. Interested contractors must provide company information, DUNS and CAGE codes, relevant GSA contracts, descriptions of capabilities and prior experience, details on teaming or subcontracting arrangements, and country of origin information to address Buy American requirements under FAR 25.1. Only Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses are eligible to participate in this sole source opportunity. Respondents should be aware that the Government will not reimburse any costs associated with preparing a response, and failure to respond does not preclude participation in any future formal solicitation. The specific products sought include Rubbermaid brand items or acceptable equivalents, encompassing janitor trolleys, mop buckets with wringers, rotomolded tilt trucks, and various waste receptacles including fire-resistant wastebaskets and biohazard containers.
