About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 4 has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to establish a sole source procurement with OmniCell, Inc. for support services at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. The solicitation number is 36C24426Q0002 and involves maintenance and repair services for previously acquired Omnicell equipment currently in use at the medical facility located at 3900 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA. The procurement falls under NAICS code 339112 for Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and PSC code J066 for maintenance, repair, and rebuild of instruments and laboratory equipment. The contracting officer for this procurement is Ashley Zeccardo, and the notice was posted on September 3, 2025.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform the marketplace of the government's intention to proceed with a non-competitive, firm-fixed-price contract arrangement to ensure uninterrupted support services for critical medical equipment. Interested parties have until September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time to respond, though the notice explicitly states this is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotes. The VA emphasizes that any determination not to compete this proposed acquisition remains solely within the government's discretion. The sole source approach is being pursued to maintain continuity of services for the existing Omnicell equipment without operational disruption at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. No specific eligibility criteria are outlined since this represents an intended direct award to the original equipment manufacturer for proprietary support services.
