About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Veterans Integrated Service Network 23, is seeking a sole-source firm-fixed-price contract for Stryker ProCare Maintenance Services at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The procurement is specifically for maintenance services for Stryker medical beds and stretchers currently in use at the facility, with the contract being awarded under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 due to Stryker Medical being the sole authorized Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The contract falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a Product Service Code (PSC) of J065. While this is not a competitive solicitation, interested vendors may submit capability statements to Contract Specialist Savannah Weberg by January 7, 2025, demonstrating their ability to perform the work, including documentation from Stryker Medical authorizing them as a reseller, dealer, or third-party provider. The government will review submitted documentation to determine whether to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract. The sole potential contractor is Stryker Medical, located at 3800 E Centre Ave in Portage, Michigan, which has been identified as the only vendor capable of providing the required maintenance services. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the documentation. The place of performance is the Iowa City VA Health Care System located at 601 Highway 6 West in Iowa City, Iowa. Market research has conclusively determined that Stryker Medical is the exclusive vendor authorized to maintain these specific medical equipment pieces, and no other company or vendor can satisfy the agency's requirements. The procurement process allows for potential vendors to submit capability statements, though the ultimate determination of competitive procurement remains solely at the government's discretion.
