About this opportunity
The Veterans Health Administration Network Contracting Office 02, operating under the Department of Veterans Affairs, issued a Special Notice on January 29, 2026 regarding comprehensive maintenance services for surgical laser equipment. This is a notice of intent to award a single-source contract to Lumenis Be, Inc., the original equipment manufacturer, for maintenance and repair services supporting two Lumenis surgical lasers located at the NY Harbor Healthcare System Manhattan campus in New York. The notice invites interested parties to demonstrate their capability to fulfill the requirements by the February 3, 2026 deadline. The contract falls under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a $34.0 million size standard. This procurement is not a competitive solicitation but rather a notification that the government intends to sole-source the award to the OEM.
The objective of this notice is to provide potential contractors an opportunity to express interest and capability before the government executes a single-source contract for the specialized maintenance services required for proprietary Lumenis surgical equipment. The contract period spans from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027, with four optional one-year renewal periods, and will include full-service maintenance, unlimited service calls, expedited shipping, premium scheduling, repairs with labor and travel, OEM parts, and an annual allowance for one laser tube, handpieces, and/or laser cavity. Interested parties must submit written responses by February 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time via email to Lynn.Krakowiak@va.gov with the subject line "RESPONSE TO INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - 36C24226Q0316." All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and be considered responsible sources to be eligible for award. The Department of Veterans Affairs will not reimburse any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice, and all submitted documents will not be returned.
