The contract will support the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, and falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. This notice is not a request for proposals or quotes, but rather an informational announcement of the government's intention to pursue a non-competitive procurement. The anticipated contract structure includes a base year plus two option years that may be exercised at the government's discretion. The procurement will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation Parts 12 and 13.
The purpose of this sole source procurement is to obtain specialized Terumo System 1 Services for medical equipment maintenance, repair, and rebuilding at the VA medical center. The government has determined that Terumo is the only contractor that meets the specific suitability criteria outlined in the Statement of Work, justifying the non-competitive approach under FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). Contractors have until June 18, 2025, to submit responses, though any submissions will be treated as informational only and will not result in government payment obligations. The notice explicitly states that responses will be used solely to help the government determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Eligibility is effectively limited to Terumo as the identified sole source provider, and the government retains full discretion in deciding whether to proceed with competition based on any responses received.
