About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 19, has issued a Special Notice indicating its intent to sole source a preventive maintenance contract for Stryker Neptune surgical equipment at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center. This firm-fixed price contract is for preventive maintenance services on Stryker Neptune 3 Rovers and Stryker Neptune 2 Docking Stations, which are utilized in the Surgery Department for the disposal of hazardous bodily waste. The contracting officer for this opportunity is Jacqueline O'Bryan, and the VA Network Contracting Office 19 is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. This Special Notice falls under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC code J065 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies).

The purpose of this sole source procurement is to secure comprehensive preventive maintenance services including parts, labor, travel, and scheduled on-site inspections for the specialized Stryker surgical equipment. Interested parties must submit responses by October 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM Mountain Time to be considered for award. Only Stryker Medical LLC is eligible to participate in this solicitation, as the VA has determined that Stryker is the sole authorized seller, manufacturer, and service provider for this equipment; using unauthorized service providers would compromise device quality, reliability, and FDA compliance standards. The VA justifies this sole source approach based on Stryker's exclusive access to original parts and the requirement that maintenance be performed by Stryker's certified technicians operating under strict FDA-governed safety and quality system controls. Contractors interested in this opportunity should contact Jacqueline O'Bryan at Jacqueline.Obryan@va.gov or 303-712-5760 for additional information.
