About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 5 has issued a Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice for a one-year service repair contract for an Artisan Link Pro Special Stains System (ALP116020) located at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The contract, awarded to Agilent Technologies, Inc. effective January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, addresses the repair and preventive maintenance of a critical laboratory device that is currently non-functional and unable to record time or date. The sole source justification stems from the facility having only one of these specialized medical devices, requiring manufacturer-recommended service to maintain compliance with The Joint Commission standards. While the exact award amount is not specified, the estimated cost exceeds government purchase card limits, necessitating a formal contract. The scope of work includes providing all necessary labor, personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision to repair the system, with field service engineers required to follow strict VA protocols, including checking in with Biomedical Engineering, submitting service reports within 5 business days, and adhering to facility security and equipment handling guidelines.
