About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 21 has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Omnicell Inc for preventative maintenance services. The procurement covers Omnicell Equipment at the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System, specifically at the Daniel Kahikina Akaka VA Clinic in Kapolei, Hawaii. The contract is classified under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a size standard of $34 million. The VA is justifying this sole source award under 41 USC A3304(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, citing that only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. The solicitation number is 36C26125Q0487 and falls under the medical equipment maintenance and repair category.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide an opportunity for other potential vendors to demonstrate their capability to provide full preventative maintenance services for Omnicell Equipment before the VA proceeds with the sole source award. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by June 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time to parmpreet.pannu@va.gov, including eight specific requirements such as socioeconomic status, DUNS/CAGE codes, relevant experience, project references, teaming arrangements, GSA contract numbers, authorization from Omnicell Inc, and pricing information. Contractors must maintain current registration in the System for Award Management (SAM), and veteran-owned small businesses must be VetCert certified by the SBA. The contract performance period runs from April 17, 2025, to April 16, 2026, covering 24/7 telephone and on-site support, remote diagnostics, and access to Omnicell's Technical Assistance Center engineers. While the VA will evaluate any responses received, the determination whether to compete this procurement remains at the government's sole discretion.
