About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 12, through the Great Lakes Acquisition Center, is conducting a sole-source procurement to replace the medical vacuum system in the Damen Building Basement at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, with responses due by 10:00 AM CST on September 28, 2026. The VA intends to negotiate exclusively with Evergreen Medical Services under simplified acquisition authority (41 U.S.C. § 1901) because the system has repeatedly overheated and shut down due to high temperatures, with one pump bearing damaged beyond repair, and the Government determines only Evergreen Medical Services can satisfy agency requirements.

The contract is classified as firm fixed price under NAICS 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC J065. Firms that believe they can meet the requirements may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to perform, including product and service information and customer references. Submissions must be delivered by email as MS Word or PDF attachments to Contracting Officer Jennifer Mead at Jennifer.Mead@va.gov; telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The Government reserves discretion to determine whether to compete this procurement based on responses received. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with sole-source negotiation with Evergreen Medical Services.
