About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 5 is seeking a contractor to provide three 32-hour ASSE 6040 Medical Gas System Maintenance certification training classes for VA employees across the Maryland Health Care System. The primary requirement is for an instructor with a minimum of 10 years of experience in design, testing, verification, and troubleshooting of medical gas systems who is currently credentialed as an ASSE 6050 Instructor. The contractor must coordinate all training activities with the Contracting Officer's Representative and ensure that each class accommodates no more than 16 VA employees. While the pre-solicitation notice does not explicitly specify formal evaluation criteria, the focus appears to be on instructor qualifications, instructional materials, and the ability to deliver compliant training across multiple locations. The response deadline for this pre-solicitation notice is November 21, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time, providing potential bidders with eleven days to submit questions or expressions of interest.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, limiting competition to small business entities. The training must be delivered at three Maryland Health Care System sites—Baltimore, Loch Raven, and Perry Point—with at least one class held at each location between October 2025 and February 2026. The pre-solicitation notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide a specific award value or budget range, though the scope encompasses materials and instructional services for up to 48 total students across the three sessions. The NAICS code 333912 (Air and Gas Compressor Manufacturing) and Product Service Code J065 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies) provide the classification framework for this procurement. Interested vendors should direct inquiries to Keysha Gorman, the primary point of contact, at Keysha.Gorman74@va.gov or 410-637-1513.
