About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to Hologic, Inc. for full-service coverage of a Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D unit located at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. The contract will have a base period of one year with the provision of four additional option years for renewal. Specifically, the contract will cover full-service maintenance of the medical imaging equipment, including all glassware components, x-ray tubes, and detectors for the Radiology Department. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334517 for Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1,200 employees. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the VA is providing an opportunity for interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities.

Interested contractors must submit written capability statements by December 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time to demonstrate their ability to meet the contract requirements. The primary point of contact for submissions is Contract Specialist Lee Kern, who can be reached via email at Lee.Kern@va.gov. All responses will be reviewed to determine whether a competitive procurement might be warranted, though the decision to proceed with a sole-source award remains entirely at the government's discretion. To be eligible for potential award, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). The VA emphasizes that it will not reimburse any costs incurred by parties preparing responses, and all submitted documentation will not be returned. Contractors are advised to provide clear and comprehensive documentation that details their technical background, experience, and capabilities relevant to supporting the medical equipment maintenance requirements.
