About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration is seeking qualified vendors to perform comprehensive medical gas system inspections and testing for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System in New Orleans. The project encompasses testing and inspecting medical gas systems across 14 buildings, including master and area alarms, source equipment, zone valves, automatic pressure switches, and outlets. Vendors must hold a current ASSE Medical Gas Verifier 6030 certification and demonstrate expertise in medical gas system testing, with inspections to be conducted in accordance with NFPA-99 2021 guidelines. Interested contractors must submit a five-page capability statement detailing their experience, personnel qualifications, and ability to perform these services by April 11th, 2025 at 13:00 PM CST. The evaluation will focus on the vendor's technical capabilities, personnel expertise, and compliance with specified certification requirements.
The solicitation is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), providing opportunities for veteran-owned firms in this specialized medical equipment inspection market. The contract structure includes one base year (July 20, 2025 - July 19, 2026) with four additional option years, allowing for potential long-term engagement. Vendors must provide detailed documentation including business size, socioeconomic status, and proof of registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) and VetBiz Registry. The project will require quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections across multiple facility buildings, with testing to ensure patient and staff safety through rigorous system evaluation. While specific award value is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the inspection requirements and multi-year contract structure suggests a significant opportunity for qualified SDVOSB contractors specializing in medical gas system testing.
