About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk is seeking to procure Bauer Air Compressor Maintenance services for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Detachment in Dahlgren, Virginia. The solicitation is for annual maintenance of a Bauer Verticus Breathing Air Compressor System, utilizing FAR Part 12 and Part 13 acquisition procedures for commercial items. Qualified contractors must be Bauer-certified technicians capable of performing comprehensive service tasks, including replacing components like oil and water separators, emergency stop buttons, air purifier cartridges, and drive belts. All responsible sources may submit a quote, with a critical requirement being active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The solicitation response deadline is May 27, 2025, with questions to be directed to Tierra Watson at tierra.k.watson.civ@us.navy.mil.

The contract will have a base year and four option years, running from May 29, 2025, to November 28, 2030, with maintenance to be performed at the NSWCDD Visitor Information Center in King George, VA. While the original solicitation indicated no specific set-aside, the detailed file suggests potential eligibility for service-disabled veteran-owned, women-owned, and HUBZone small businesses under a $34,000,000 size standard for NAICS code 541512. Work will be conducted during standard hours of 0700 to 1430, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The maintenance is critical for supporting life-support equipment used in chemical, biological, and radioactive response scenarios, specifically for SCUBA and Scott Airpak SCBA equipment. Market research confirmed two Bauer distributors have technicians trained and certified to perform the required services, emphasizing the specialized nature of this procurement.
