About this opportunity
The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Code 410A Procurement under the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command has issued a Special Notice regarding IPDS-LR Maintenance Certification Training. The procurement intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to Bruker Detection Corporation for training on the Bruker IPDS-LR Mk 26 Mod 1 detection unit and associated equipment. This training focuses on a shipboard chemical warfare agent detection system used by the US Navy to detect chemical warfare agents and alert naval vessel crews of hazardous concentrations. The requirement will be processed under FAR Parts 12 and 13 as a Firm Fixed Price contract. The NAICS code is 611699 with a business size standard of $16,500,000 in annual revenue. The notice was posted on August 13, 2025, with responses due by August 14, 2025.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to identify potential vendors capable of providing equivalent IPDS-LR maintenance certification training, as Bruker Detection Corporation is currently the only authorized provider due to their status as the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Due to radioactive elements within the detection equipment, technicians must receive specific certification training before performing maintenance, making this training mission essential for Navy operations. While this is not a formal solicitation, the government will review all information received to determine whether conducting a competitive procurement would be in the government's best interest. Contractors interested in responding must provide clear documentation of their capability to deliver this specialized training or equivalent services. Responses must include complete company contact information and demonstrate bona fide capability to provide the required certification training for this critical naval defense system.
